Morning Love: The existence of Love
While talking to my mom the other morning, she brought up the fact that it has been thirty two years to the date since she had met my dad. Thirty two years. Take that in for a minute. That is more than quarter of a century and more than three quarters of her lifetime. Now four kids and three grand kids later they’re still going strong. Do they still have their quarrels? – yes. Does that mean that they don’t love each other? – no. It really made me think – does love like that even exist anymore? In a society where more women can say that they are mothers before they can say that they are wives, does true love really exist?
I’m lucky to call some of the most fabulous, intelligent and beautiful women in the world my friends. While it seems that they have everything going for them, the vast majority seems to be unlucky in love albiet not from lack of trying. See as women we have a lot of love to give. We have the ability to love our families our friends, but no love can ever even begin to come close to the love that we have for our spouses. This is where the problem lies, we often have difficulty in differentiating between who deserves our love, and who we think can handle our love. Truthfully not all men can. What we need to learn is that our love was not designed to give to just any and every man out there. We often think that when the right person doesnt come along that maybe, just maybe nobody wants the love we have to give. There has never been a statement more false. If the right person hasnt come along, its not that nobody wants the love you have to give- its that God doesnt want you to waste your love on someone who doesnt deserve it. Get it? Got it? Good.
In the event that you chose not to heed my warning? Chances are you’ll end up bitter and resentful because you’ll have given and given until quite frankly you’ll have nothing left to give.
So for today’s bit of morning love try and remember that only someone very special deserves both you and your love. When the timing is right that person will come along and will be thankful for all the love you have to give for 32 years and forever more.
xoxo
