My Fitness Journey: Insanity Day 1

April 13th, 2011
I’ve always been a curvy person, and don’t get me wrong I absolutely love having a shapely body. It makes me feel beautiful and sexy, however after two kids and a boyfriend who is a phenomenal cook the pounds have packed on. While I have expressed my concern over being my heaviest yet, everyone else seems to think it’s no big problem because I recently had a baby.
I’ve tried the gym, and jogging and while those are all great I needed something that would kick my butt the way a trainer would. So after watching infomercials one night while working I came across Insanity. I researched it and there really were no negative reviews, so I gave in.
This morning marked my first day of the workout and it started with a Fit Test. You do one aerobic move for one minute and record how many of each you do. Keep in mind these moves start off easy and gradually get harder, there are eight moves in total.
Needless to say by the third move I was sweating profusely and cursing at the television. By the end I was keeled over on the floor, panting like I ran a marathon and my legs were jelly. Did I mention that this was only the fit test?
So I’ve committed to working out twice a day with Insanity while occasionally throwing in some other workouts like jogging ( which I love) , and zumba ( which I also love.)
Does anyone want to join me on this challenge?
I’ve listed the numbers from my Fit Test below:
Switch Kicks – 61
Power Jacks – 30
Power Knees – 60
Power Jumps – 25
Globe Jumps – 6
Suicide Jumps – 10
Push Up Jacks – 9
Low Plank Oblique – 20
I’ll continue to post my journey, my next fit test is in fifteen days so hopefully there will be a great improvement.
Remember, in order to be happy you need overall health of the mind, body and spirit!
xoxo
