Morning Love:Be Mentally Prepared

December 3rd, 2011

I’m pretty sure that if this past week of my life were to be developed into a novel it would be a best seller. It seemingly had all of the juicy makings of a good story – death, accomplishments, romance and drama. You name it and I went through it. I’m glad though that last week has come to an end and I feel a renewed source of motivation and strength. I feel like because of last week whatever decides to come my way this week I can handle it and come out having little to no battle wounds.

There’s a quote by Alex Karras that has always resonated with me and I thought that I would share because it just seemed so appropriate, “It takes more courage to reveal insecurities than to hide them, more strength to relate to people than to dominate them, more ‘manhood’ to abide by thought-out principles rather than blind reflex. Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles and an immature mind.

It really is true that the measure of a person is not by what they can do with their physical strength but rather what they are able to mentally push themselves to do. If you believe it you can achieve it and that’s what today’s morning love segment is all about.

We’re going to always come across some obstacles that make us feel like giving up but the key is to keep going. By the time mid-week came around I was ready to give up, throw in the towel and crawl into bed and stay there until Monday morning again. But alas I didn’t, not because I have two kids to care for but because if I were to give up then negativity wins and no one ever wants the bad guy to win.

So surround yourself with positive people that love and care for you and are willing to bring you up when you feel down. We all have bad days, but those are the days that show us just how tough we are.

Have a great week!

xoxo
