Morning Love: Be Thankful!
With the holiday season fast approaching it’s remarkably evident that Christmas in this day and age is like an evolved high tech movie compared to the Christmas’ of the past.
Everyone is rushing around, parents are fighting over toys in stores and yet the one group who remains the most genuine at this time are children. They’re not swearing at someone for stealing their parking at the mall. They aren’t grumpy because they had to wait in line ten minutes longer. They’re anxiously anticipating the arrival of the big man from the North Pole. Heck, they’re even on their best behavior right now just in case he REALLY is watching!
We can learn a lot from our children, and vice versa. Instead of having them choose gifts only for themselves, make them choose a gift to donate to charity. Have them spend a day volunteering with you at the food bank or at a local kitchen. Whatever you do, make sure you’re teaching them that Christmas isn’t just about gifts, presents and Santa but its about goodwill towards our fellow men, helping those in our community and of course the most important the birth of Jesus.
So for today’s dose of morning love: take some time to slow down during the rush of the holiday season to enjoy the 3 F’s – Family, Food & Faith. Most importantly be thankful for what you have!
xoxo
